Racer Scores Father’s Day Victory!

Ridley Park resident and race-car driver PJ Gargiulo scored
his first career win in the American Race Drivers Club (ARDC)
Midget ranks this weekend by winning the 20 lap Father Day
Special at Susquehanna Speedway Park in Newberrytown, PA.
Coming from the 11th starting position, Gargiulo quickly advanced
into fifth by lap six. He then swiftly moved into the third
position, and by lap eight had caught two time defending ARDC
champion Andy Martin, and 2007 Susquehanna Speedway Park track
champion Tracy Readinger.
A three way battle for the lead ensued, but on lap fifteen,
Gargiulo decided that he had enough. After sweeping by Readinger
to take the second spot, he promptly stole the lead from Andy
Martin and never looked back. Two caution flags interrupted
the final five laps, but Gargiulo was unchallenged to take
home his first victory.
